The 2012 Olympic Games officially begin today, with Danny Boyle’s opening ceremony taking place tonight. But while Underworld are musical directors on that, there’s only one official Olympics band for us - Finnish electro-rock troupe Siinai. Why? Well, because their brilliant 2011 debut album is called ‘Olympic Games’ and has Olympics-themed song titles.
Throughout the Olympics, the band will be posting music, videos and mixtapes to their Tumblr blog. First up, check out Tom Furse from The Horrors’ remix of ‘Anthem 1&2’ above.
Muse got to write the theme tune for the whole Olympics, but the velodrome is The Chemical Brothers’ domain.
